The different types of laminating products and the different types of film used are the key to obtaining high-quality laminating products. What methods are there to control tactile film coverage?
One is the lamination temperature.
Temperature is the main factor affecting the coating, as the adhesive on the pre coated tactile film is a hot melt adhesive. Temperature determines the melting state of the hot melt adhesive, and the permeability and diffusion of the hot melt adhesive molecules to BOPP film, printing ink layer, paper, etc. Although an increase in coating temperature helps to enhance bonding strength, excessive temperature can cause film shrinkage, resulting in shiny, bubbling, and wrinkling of the product surface. In practice, the lamination temperature should be controlled between 70-100 ℃.
The second is the lamination speed.
The speed of coating determines the melting time of the adhesive on the pre coating on the heating roller and the contact time between the film and the paper. The film coverage speed is slow, the adhesive on BOPP film has a longer heating time, the film and paper pressing time is long, and the bonding effect is good, but the production efficiency is low. The film coverage speed is fast, the adhesive on BOPP film has a short heating time on the heating roller, and the contact time between the film and paper is short, resulting in poor adhesion effect. The production speed of domestic laminating equipment is generally controlled at 5-30m/min.
The third is the lamination pressure.
The paper surface is uneven, and only under appropriate pressure can the melted hot melt adhesive completely cover the surface of the printed matter, and the coated product can be bright and have a good bonding effect. Low pressure and weak adhesion result in high pressure, which helps to improve the adhesion between film and paper products. But if the pressure is too high, it is easy to produce the product, and the surface of the rubber roller is prone to injury. Deformation reduces the lifespan of rubber rollers. As the pressure increases, the contact pressure between the rubber roller and the heating roller increases, causing an increase in the load on the two roller shaft heads and bearings, intensifying wear, and increasing the load on the transmission system. Therefore, excessive pressure can affect the service life of the entire machine.
In actual production, the pressure should be adjusted according to the paper. For example, for loose paper, the pressure should be higher, and vice versa. Based on experience, the lamination pressure is generally set at 8-25 MPa.
